Production Sites

The AT&S Group is a global company and operates production sites in Europe and Asia: Leoben and Fehring in Austria, Ansan in Korea, Nanjangud in India, Shanghai and Chongqing in China, and Kulim in Malaysia. AT&S employs roughly 14,000 people worldwide.
Each AT&S plant is focused on a dedicated technology portfolio: the Austrian plants primarily supply the European market, but increasingly also the American market. Essentially, short Iead times, special applications and customer proximity are particularly important in Europe.
Overall, the plants in Austria, India and Korea focus on small and/or medium series for the industrial and automotive sectors. High-volume production for customers in the IC substrates and mobile devices segments is based in China and Malaysia.
With their research units, Shanghai and Leoben also play a key role in advancing technology within the AT&S Group.

Our locations
AT&S is currently represented at seven locations in Europe and Asia. The individual plants are regularly expanded and upgraded as required. At present, construction work is underway in Leoben and Kulim.
Leoben (Austria) | Headquarters
Leoben is home of the global headquarters for AT&S. Currently there are three production lines, which manufacture a number of different ML/HDI high-end printed circuit boards, embedded solutions for power applications, especially in the area of servers and cores for the IC substrate plants. In addition, special technologies for aviation & satellites, industry, automotive and the IC market are developed and manufactured here.

A new plant, which is currently under construction, will also bring the production of IC substrates to Leoben, including significant research and development capabilities. Around 700 new jobs will be created with the new plant.

Fehring (Austria)
The plant in Fehring is of historic importance for AT&S as it is the oldest part of the company. Established in 1974, the Fehring plant employs around 400 people.

Production focuses on different types of printed circuit boards – from relatively simple double-sided printed circuit boards to highly complex flexible and rigid-flexible printed circuit boards. Products made in Fehring are primarily supplied to customers in the automotive and industrial segments. “Insulated Metallic Substrate” printed circuit boards for improved heat management are also part of the portfolio.

Chongqing (China)
Since 2011, AT&S has been present in Chongqing. The location comprises three plants and manufactures state-of-the-art IC substrates and modules.

Our investment in Chongqing stands for the highest level of technology and serves the global market. The expansion of the production of IC substrates in Chongqing is currently progressing rapidly. Series production has already started and full capacity will be available in early 2024. AT&S is thus securing additional market share in the production of substrates for high-performance processors, computers, processing centres, gaming, 5G, automotive and artificial intelligence.

AT&S has been present in China for more than 20 years. Production in Shanghai started in 2002. The Shanghai plant manufactures large series of state-of-the-art HDI (High-density Interconnection) printed circuit boards for customers in the Mobile Devices & Substrates segment worldwide. The plant successfully serves the demand for HDI and mSAP printed circuit boards and has established itself as a leading supplier of the latest PCB technology. The broad technology spectrum offered by the plant is very well received by customers in the segments smartphones, consumer electronics and in the automotive industry.

Ansan (Korea)
AT&S entered business in Ansan by acquiring an existing company in 2006. The plant in Ansan primarily produces for the medical, automotive and industrial segments.

Especially its capabilities in the medical segment make Ansan highly competitive since this product group requires a level of precision and technology that is difficult to achieve for competitors. Kulim (Malaysia)
AT&S Malaysia is an upcoming manufacturing plant in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. It is by far the first foray of AT&S in the Southeast Asia, and the largest investment for the group.

AT&S Malaysia will mainly produce high-end IC substrates for high-performance processors, which are commonly used in computers, data centers, gaming, 5G, automotive or AI.
The production facility, located in the Hi-Tech Park in Kulim, is expected to start operations in 2024 and will provide approximately 6,000 jobs. The plant is now actively recruiting engineers as well as production and administrative staff.
