Joney Guo – From the beginnings to quality leadership

14 years of growth with AT&S in Chongqing. When AT&S established its Chongqing site in 2011, Joney Guo was one of those who believed in the potential of this new chapter from the very beginning. 2011, he started his journey with AT&S – a journey that has taken him from engineer to Quality Director of Chongqing plant 1 & 3.

Joney studied Electrical Automation at Chongqing University of Technology. His professional roots lie in process and CAM development at a PCB company in Zhuhai. There, he gained valuable experience in design optimization, process development, and new technology introduction – forming a foundation that later benefited him at AT&S.

What ultimately convinced him to join AT&S was not only the company’s technological leadership in HDI and IC substrates.

“When I learned about AT&S, I was attracted by its reputation as a global technology leader in HDIs and advanced IC substrates solutions. But what truly impressed me was the company’s diverse culture and its care for people.”

Learning across borders

His start at AT&S was marked by intensive training. Hands-on QE training in Shanghai, international assignments in Chandler (USA), and Six Sigma Black Belt programs in China and Europe.

“These experiences shaped me into a stronger professional, capable of handling complex challenges. More importantly, they allowed me to work with supportive colleagues across regions and cultures.”

Together with his teams, Joney translated what he learned into tangible results. Innovative quality systems such as Metro Smart Sampling, the Defect Process Control System (PCS), and advanced quality platforms have sustainably strengthened customer trust in AT&S.

Quality is teamwork

Today, Joney’s focus is on people development, quality management, and continuous improvement. He is particularly proud of his collaboration with the Quality PCS and Yield Integration team, with whom he implemented groundbreaking systems such as PCS 1.0/2.0, tool-to-tool matching, and design-for-yield platforms.

“These achievements are the result of strong dedication and true teamwork. Without collaboration and trust, none of this would have been possible.”

Looking back on his 14-year journey, Joney remains deeply committed to the company. “I love AT&S’s open-minded culture, care for people, belief in data, and encouragement of innovation. I am convinced AT&S will continue to lead in high-tech manufacturing and achieve even greater success in the future.”
