Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell

Appointed for the first time on 4 July 2019, appointed until the 30th Annual General Meeting 2024.

Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell studied social and economic sciences in Vienna. Since 1975 she has worked for the National Bank of Austria. From 1981 to 1984 she was economic policy advisor. Since 1997 she has been a member of the Governing Board of the Austrian National Bank and since 1998 Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Austria and the International Monetary Fund. From 2003 to May 2011 Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell was a member of the board of Directors of the European Central Bank and from 2013 to 2019 she was a member of the Global Advisory Board of MUFG Bank in Tokyo.
